Authorized User Rights in CruSupport


Access rights in CruSupport are assigned based on an employee’s position level in accordance with Privacy Act requirements. Rights assigned to each level are system-assigned and cannot be modified.

Guidelines for Assigning User Access Rights


Administrative Officer

AO users have top-level access to the facility’s database, including read/write ability for T&As, personnel action, and LDR Entries, and can modify facility organization. Only AO users can export and import data. Note: AOs have access to all LDR data but they can only do approvals on the LDR data when they are head of an office and only for employees beneath them on the organization chart. AO rights include access to all elements of the program. The AO can update all personnel records and actions, and alter the facility organization. Only the AO can export and import data.

Office AO

Has read/write access to T&As, Personnel Actions, and LDR entries for assigned offices. Note An Office AO does not have approval access to LDR unless he or she is head of an office.

Office

Office rights are usually granted to supervisors or managers. They can only update personnel records for the people under their supervision. . Office-level users can view the facility organization chart and use it to make personnel changes. They do not have access to Personnel Actions. They have read/write access to T&As and LDR for those they supervise.

T&A Clerk

Full read/write access to all T&As and LDR.

Office T&A Clerk

Full read/write access to T&As and LDR for assigned offices.

Other

Unless assigned one of the user rights described above, employees are assigned Other rights by default. Users with Other level rights can view their own personnel record and facility organization but can’t make changes except to their password. Other users can view their own personnel record. In the facility organizational chart. Other users can view the facility organization but cannot make changes. Other users can also change their own password. They have read/write access to T&As and LDR for those they supervise. You do not need to assign/remove Other rights because they are the system default.

Access Rights Statement

Cru-X incorporates numerous security and Privacy Act considerations to control access to sensitive employee data such as Social Security Numbers, salary information, LDR hours, and other personal data. Every care was taken to allow access by authorized employees only and deny access to those who are not authorized to view personnel records. Guidelines for Assigning User Access Rights

  • Only AOs or someone signed on as System Administrator can assign rights to others.
  • A user may not have more than one access rights. If a user is assigned a second access level, the second level of rights assigned replaces the first.
  • Multiple users may be assigned the same level of access rights within an office.
  • If no access rights are assigned, the employee automatically has Other rights.
