Schedule Program Issues

Back to CRU-X Home

CRU-X in its current version requires a user to input every person's shift every day. To be functional in any large facility, CRU-X will likely need a scheduling program that provides the individual shift information that the program needs to perform most of the functions of CruOps.

Currently, there are several sophisticated programs in use at facilities around the country. These have primarily been developed by controllers.

Bob Miner of Albuquerque Center developed a program in full use there that emphasizes shift management and includes a plethora of convenient features including go home lists, overtime assignment and tracking, click-and-drag shift swaps and much, much more. Click here for more about Bob's program.

Mike Klupenger, a supervisor at Cleveland Center, also has a program in full use. Mike's is more focused on schedule building. Mike's RDO program includes great tools to make constructing a schedule simple, as well as overtime assignment and many other features.

You can also download a fully functional and multi-featured program written in Access here. You are invited to try these programs out and see if they fit your needs.

Facilities who seek to continue using their own schedule programs can investigate the use of a schedule importer routine that will integrate your system with CRU-X. Click here for the schedule importer specs.

All facility schedulers are invited to contact CRU-X Tech Rep Bill Holtzman with information about any other scheduling programs out there and/or your feedback on the programs offered here.
