CRU-X Facility Optional Settings

There are two groups of optional settings. One is meant to be "locked in" by MOU or other agreement and the other, although meant to be at the discretion of the sup on duty, may be codified in the MOU as well.

Locked settings
These settings are accessible only at the Adminstrative access level. Here is a video showing how they are accessed through CruOps. The window with the actual settings is shown here. The settings are as follows:
  • Before Regular Shift SignIn - a sign in window for regular shifts. (More about this on the actual settings page.)
  • Allowable Flex Before - a window for flex shifts. (Ditto.)
  • Time On available Status - do you want CRU-X to display how long you've been on break?
  • Allowable Position Break Length - this is the one that lets you get off position briefly and not lose your spot in the duty board. An example of a legitimate use of this is when you get bumped off by someone training.

Discretionary Settings
These settings can be accessed by the sup on duty. Video of this process is shown here. The actual settings are displayed in the window shown here. The settings are as follows:
  • Duty List Alerts - These will cause CRU-X to change the background color of your name in the duty board if you are on position too long or near the end of your shift.
  • Available List Alerts - these will cause CRU-X to change the background color of your name in the unlikely event that you are late back from break.
Note that the only way to regulate these discretionary settings would be by MOU.

The length of time a controller can be on position before the duty board entry turns yellow or red to alert the supervisor/CIC that a break is due.
    • Available list alerts
The length of time a controller can be on the available list before his/her entry turns yellow or red.
    • Allowable "on-position" break time
The maximum length of time a controller may be off position and still have the previous time on position carry over when s/he signs back on.
    • Alert list settings
The number of minutes before a controller is scheduled to sign in (or after s/he is scheduled to sign out) before his/her name appears in the alert list.
  3. Flex time If your facility negotiates a flex "time window" before/after sign-in/sign-out, you can configure CruOps to reflect your agreed flex-time settings.
